Aaron Gonzalez

Assistant Pastor

​​I was born and raised in El Paso, TX into a loving Christian family who (I feel) brought me and the rest of my 8 brothers and sisters up using Proverbs 22:6 as our “Gonzalez Family” motto. We still had our fair share of issues, struggles and regrets, but God was always there to lift us back up, brush off our knees and push us along. He has always made himself evident in protecting us, providing for us and helping us make the best decisions we can. For me, I know Him on a personal level in my day-to-day relationship and walk with Him. I thank God always for the way my parents made sure that we understood how important a close personal relationship was with God!
I gave my life to God when I was a young child and baptized in Lordsburg, NM in someone’s pool. (I don’t even know who’s house it was!) My family started to attend Calvary Chapel El Paso (Pastor Charlie Flores) back around 1994 and then Calvary Chapel Sun City (Pastor Terry Gray) starting 1997, which was then held at the local YMCA. After a few years there we moved to an actual building where I started helping out as the sound guy, and then later on, helping out on the worship team playing guitar, bass or drums… wherever I could help! I also helped out in the youth group with worship and assisting the Youth Leader and his wife, Daniel & Sarah Rodriguez.
It was there at CCSC where me, one of my brothers and two other guys from the youth group started a band called, “The Comfort” in 2005. We played together for quite a few years; playing at various churches, events and venues in both the east side and west side of El Paso and Las Cruces. We got invited to open for many big name bands during our time together, like: Building 429, Todd Agnew, Disciple, Ever Stays Red, Everyday Sunday, Tree63, L.A. Symphony, The Ember Days and others!
I then met my future wife in 2007 and got married December 19, 2009. Now both me and my wife, Krystyna live in Las Cruces, NM. We started attending Calvary Chapel Las Cruces in 2010 and then eventually got involved in 2011, helping out with the youth group and in the sound room. I am now one of the Worship Leaders at the church and the main Youth Leader for the church. I have a passion for music and I love teaching our youth. I am always looking forward to what God has in store for me and my wife in the future!
