Jay Wisner

SENIOR Pastor

My name is Jay Wisner, I am the Pastor at Calvary Chapel of Las Cruces serving under Pastor Bob Ortega since 1985.  I am a US Navy veteran, and have recently retired as The Chief of the Las Cruces Juvenile Probation Office.  More importantly, I am happily married to my loving wife Stella for 27 years, and together we have three children; Deborah, Jacob, and Elizabeth.  

​MY HISTORY
I grew up in Las Cruces and got into a fair amount of trouble as a teen and young adult.  After serving in the US Navy, I moved to Norfolk, VA, where I met my good friends Joe and Carol Di Fernando, shortly, after meeting them I came to know Christ in 1983.  I will always be thankful for the time Joe and Carol spent with me, in those early years as a Christian, mentoring me in the faith. 

After moving back to Las Cruces, I attended and graduated from NMSU with a Bachelors of Criminal Justice, with a minor in Counseling and Ed Psych.  God opened the door for me to work with the troubled youth of our community.  My career with the Juvenile Probation Office for the past 23 years has been an incredible experience and a tremendous blessing.
